Essentially, when you take hot, long showers, all the oils that your body requires are removed, which causes your skin to become dehydrated.

So, we tend to suggest that you keep your showers short and sweet. This means that you shouldn’t spend more than ten minutes showering and, for maximum effect, you should also stick to lukewarm water.
